Dead Can Dance, Efterklang, Foxygen und mehr neues beim Roskilde Festival 2013

(FOO-intern) – Dead Can Dance, Efterklang, Foxygen, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Suuns and Savages are added to the 2013 lineup.

We make the coming weekend a bit nicer with the announcement of these six new acts for Roskilde Festival 2013.

DEAD CAN DANCE (AU) play their very first concert ever on Danish soil – the only one in Scandinavia this summer. Through a fog of chanting vocals, reverb and thick synthesizers, Dead Can Dance calls forth the bewitched sweetness of Arabian nights and the odours of the Far East.

EFTERKLANG (DK) visits Roskilde for the fourth time with a show that will cement why the Danish lads are loved all over the world. The trio has signed with the legendary 4AD label. They have made audience members hold their breath back, playing fragile chamber pop with strong nuances and colours.

FOXYGEN (US) produces innocent, witty catchy tunes with impressive confidence and independence. The young blog darlings and critics’ faves are obviously head-over-heels in love with the 60s bigwigs, but the duo has enough charisma, flamboyance and self-deprecation to make their songs solid material in the 21st century.

UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA (NZ/US) also look towards the 60s but add their own laid-back and homemade vibe to the acid trip. Stoned guitar rock filled with flickering sunshine, easy-going nonchalance and heartfelt tunes.

SUUNS (CA) is an advanced, adventurous rock band who love to jam deep far inside a cloud of electronica, kraut rock and post-rock. A new album called Images Du Futur is out in March – from a band one could call Montreal’s answer to Radiohead.

SAVAGES (UK) play raw post-punk with a gory bite. The black-clad punk sisters have only released one single and has chosen to use their critically acclaimed concerts as the primary form of expression until the debut album lands later in the year.
