Welches Jahr war das noch? Jedenfalls daran kann ich mich noch erinnern. DER skandinavische Superstar Björk hatte ihren Auftritt im Grünen Zelt (oder war es schon das weiße Zelt?), egal, jedenfalls war die Hölle los.
Wir wollten eigentlich Richtung Orange Stage, aber es war kein Durchkommen. Björk sollte auftreten und gefühlte 70.000 Leute strömten in unsere Richtung. 15.000 passen aber nur ins Zelt. Die meisten durften sich Björk also aus tausend Meter Entfernung anhören bzw. erahnen, das da was abgeht. Da haben wohl die Veranstalter nicht mit gerechnet, mit so einem Ansturm, sonst wäre sie gleich auf die Hauptbühne gekommen.
Und nun kommt Björk 2012 wieder einmal nach Roskilde und ich denke doch, auf die Orange Stage. Seit Björks Debüt, 1993, hat sie rund 20 Millionen Platten verkauft, vier Brit Awards, vier MTV VMAs einkassiert und jetzt mit dem neuen interaktiven Album Biophilia eine kleine Weltsensation geschaffen.

Throughout the last 18 years, each new album has been a bold move in a new direction, and Roskilde Festival has been one of the regular stops on her musical travels.

She is the quintessential modern musician, ceaselessly innovating and completely multi-dimensional in the way she uses performance, technology, fashion, video and art to complement her music. Album projects for Björk always comprise of several components but with her eighth studio album Biophilia, released in October this year, she presents her most inter-disciplinary project to date. A wide-ranging multi-media experience, Biophilia comprises a studio album, apps for each song, a website, custom-made musical instruments, live shows and educational workshops. Björk has collaborated with app developers, scientists, writers, inventors, musicians, and instrument makers to create a unique exploration of the universe and its physical forces.
